Giuseppe Masucci is Associated Professor of Clinical Oncology at Karolinska Institute and Senior Oncologist at Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.
Professor Masucci obtained his MD at the University of Ferrara, Italy, in 1977 and, in 1984, took his Ph.D. in Tumor immunology at Karolinska Institute. He is legitimated MD in both Italy (since 1978) and Sweden (since 1986).
He has wide clinical trials experience, including the GCP qualified course at BMS facilities in Stockholm (1998) and the GCP updating course CRU (KPE) at Karolinska Hospital (2010). Also, he has planned and carried on more than 30 clinical trials as principal investigator for the last 20 years including more than 400 patients.
Between 2004 and 2011 he was appointed as coordinator of the network “Nordic Centrum of Excellence for Tumours Vaccination” by a 5 years motility grant from the Nordic agency for research (Nordforsk) and, since 2012, he is coordinating the network “Scandinavian Network for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SNIC). He is a member and representative for SNIC at the World Immunotherapy Council (WIC). Professor Masucci is also serving as Medical expert for the Swedish Department for Health and Welfare . Since 1987 he has organized 37 scientific meetings.
Is author of 127 articles of which 19 are reviews and book chapters. The mean impact factor among the last 10 papers published is 3,7. He is associated editor of the J Medical Oncology and of the Journal of Nucleic Acid Investigation and main reviewer for J. Oncology, Vaccines, Oncology Review.
